Villa Colombo, The first of a new series of Wednesday night
dances was held tonight.
About 80% of the dancers were single, It was an excellent turnout for their
first dance. A live band "Duo Santos" (John and Lisa), played primarily Latin
tunes like rumbas, cha cha, merengues, sambas, bachata, salsa, mambos, swing
,etc. along with some waltzes and polkas. An excellent mixture. Lisa's
singing some of the tunes in Latin added to the flavor.
During the bands intermission one of the very best DJ's in Ontario "John
Cairo" played social and international music. All this at a very low cost.
We were amazed. Beautiful ballroom, beautiful music, and then they also offered
3 different meals which are optional at such a low cost that from now on when we
are in Toronto we will go there for our dinner. All the dancers were smiling.
The energy was positive. Wednesday night dances have been
discontinued.
October 30, Villa Colombo. This was a Sunday night dinner dance.
Extremely well attended with a large number of costumed dancers. Prizes
were given out to the best dressed . Villa did not spare the gifts. most
got them. There were both an excellent band and of course Dave, one of the best DJ's in
Ontario The music was so good by both the band and the DJ that the dance floor
was full continuously.
